Alan Cox is a fellow at
Red Hat. He is widely regarded as number two to Linus Torvalds in the
heirarchy of Linux kernel developers. Alan maintains the 2.2 releases,
and assists Marcelo Tosatti with the 2.4 kernel tree.
Alan is also an active member of the Foundation for Information Policy
Research, and the author of many articles on the Linux system. Prior tojoining
Red Hat Alan was the managing director of Bulding Number Three Ltd, a
Linux consultancy, the technical director of CymruNet, and has also worked
for companies including NTL and 3Com. Alan has a BSc (hons) in Computer
Science from the Universt of Wales, Swansea.
